A testimonials video usually means one of two things: a montage cut from several customers, or a set of individual films you show one at a time. They are different products for different jobs, and the choice decides how you ask. This page is the split, and what a realistic year produces: on the worked example, three films from 42 asks, which is enough for a set and thin for a montage.
The montage
Thirty to ninety seconds of several customers, each saying one line. It sells the fact that many people are happy, which is what a home page or a trade-show loop needs. It is expensive in raw material: a good montage wants six or seven contributors, and on the worked example that is two years of asking.
The individual films
One customer, ninety seconds, on the page that matches what they bought. It sells the specific thing, which is what a services or pricing page needs, and it is what a year of ordinary asking actually produces.
How the choice changes the ask
A montage needs everybody answering the same question so the lines cut together. Individual films need each customer answering the questions that matter to their own case. Deciding first saves re-asking people you have already spent your one favour on.
Questions people ask about testimonials video
Can I make a montage from remote recordings?
Yes, if you asked everybody the same question and the audio is decent. It is the main reason to standardise the three questions.
How many customers do I need?
Six or seven for a montage worth watching. One is enough for a page.
Where should it go?
The montage on the home page, the individual films beside the written quotes on the pages that sell.
